Display Ads
Writing display ads has taught me that opinions about the ad mean very little.
Ad success comes down to three things: knowing your audience, experimenting, and measuring the results.
"Our display team loved working with Sharyn. She was a tremendous asset in developing ad copy. After she reworked some of our ads, there was a 15% MQL increase in a month. We also saw an increase in engagements with the ads. She also taught us a lot about copywriting. Overall, Sharyn is absolutely a joy to work with" — Colin C., Demand Gen Display Advertising Manager

Hot Offer Ad
This hot offer free trial ad targets the sales leader and the pain point of reps spending most of their day on manual tasks versus selling.
The product provides instant access to contacts. Reps create prospecting lists in a few clicks with the product
After running the ad throughout September, it has brought in 25% of Hot MQLs for 2022

Simple Works
This ad was a collaboration between the content team writer and me. I was asked to write an ad for an old post. I contacted the content team and our writer overhauled the post.
The target audience is marketing leaders.
I wrote the ad. The copy is deceptively simple. It’s been our top-performing ad since Q4, 2021, making up 21% of Warm MQLs for 2022.

Go for the Unexpected
Think like your target reader. What's the salesperson's pain point? In this case, it's ensuring renewals.
I also chose a word that's a bit unexpected, like "clinch."
Bonus: Clinch has a great sound and is one syllable.

Find the Nuggets
The display team targeted this ad to a small audience: data managers. I created the copy from a sales training deck with a pain point this persona knows all too well:
"Embarrassing mistakes made at scale hurt your reputation with prospects — salespeople calling the same lead due to duplicate and bad-match data."

Set the Scene
The target audience for this gated eBook is sales leaders.
A line in the book inspired the ad copy:
“The question for sales pros is this: Are you ready for the challenge, and opportunity, of selling to the C-suite?"
